The Top Rookie Honor is usually estimated out of what people around the NFL think of this or that player. As for linebacker Patrick Willis, this rookie of the 49ers received 48 of a possible 50 votes for the league’s Defensive Rookie of the Year. Two voters saw fit to cast their ballots for linebacker Jon Beason of the Carolina Panthers. What is more, Willis received more votes than the Associated Press’ Offensive Rookie of the Year, running back Adrian Peterson, representing the Minnesota Vikings, who had 46 1/2. Congratulations to Patrick!
