Jurevicius Afflicted With Staph Infection!

Apparently the Cleveland Browns are suffering from a major jinx when Jurevicius becomes the sixth player in six years to contract a cumbersome staph infection after undergoing a knee surgery.

BestNFLblog.com got to know that Jurevicius was afflicted with the infection earlier on Friday but he is reported to be hospitalized and recuperating well without any known complications. After the seemingly risk-free knee operation recently, he acquired the infection but is now recovering well in the Cleveland Clinic. Still, fans should not be alarmed because Jurevicius is expected to participate in off-season team activities in May and the minicamp in the coming June.

To date, other Cleveland Browns players who contracted the very same sort of infection were center LeCharles Bentley, tight end Kellen Winslow, receiver Braylon Edwards, and former Browns safety Brian Russell and linebacker Ben Taylor.

In related news, Jurevicius is expected to stay with the Cleveland Browns for at least another season. The 33-year-old player has two years left on the lucrative four-year deal he signed previously in 2006.

Brett Favre makes clear his decision to stay away from playing.

Retired quarterback Brett Favre made it clear on Friday that he has absolutely no intentions of getting out of his retirement to play for Green Bay Packers or any team in the league. He is reported to be happy about his decision to abstain from playing at the moment. He made this declaration amidst reports by The Times that his agent, James cook has sent out feelers to different teams to know their interest in taking him in. They claim to have got the news from NFL sources. Both cook and Favre have denied the allegations.

Favre is in agreement with the Green Bay Packers and his engaging in conversation with any other team would be against the anti-tampering laws of the league. Favre reiterated that he has no immediate plans of returning to the NFL and is contended with his decision to retire from the game. Favre expressed his surprise at the news and denied that he was in knowledge of any enquiries that might have taken place.

Giants begin their offseason conditioning camp

The Giants tamed the unbeatable New England Patriots in a Super Bowl championship game on Feb 3rd and this victory was one of the best NFL victories that the Giants have recorded in their NFL history. The receiver of the Giants said to the media that it was great to be at square one practicing and he said that the team had a lot more things to achieve in the near future. The defensive tackle of the Giants, Fred Robbins, feels that it is good to know that many people are hunting behind the Giants players and said that he was very happy to be with his team mates once again.
