Panther’s WR Smith sent home after picking on brawl with Lucas

The most important and in form wide receiver of the Carolina Panthers team, Steve Smith, has got only his short temper to blame, as he was kicked out of the training camp on Friday after he had punched his teammate Ken Lucas close to his left eye. The reason for the brawl between Smith and Lucas is unclear, but the Panthers management has decided to take a call on this issue and will deal the matter internally. The fight was picked up at the side lines during the special drills session and it got worse when the players took the field. The tickets to most of the Panthers games are sold out and Smith’s fans hope to their best wide receiver from the first game of the NFL season.

Philadelphia Eagles Kolb shows rapid improvement at mini camp

Philadelphia Eagles first draft pick in 2007, Kevin Kolb, carried out his rookie season activities without much fanfare and attention, than what he received last year. Kolb did impress his coaches with his style of play and finished the season with 70 passes of 106 for 617 yards and two touchdowns. The quarterback Kevin Kolb showed that he is mentally and physically prepared for the NFL league, but has to work on certain aspects of the game in order to gain the respect from his team mates. He has to be patient in waiting for his chance and once he gets it he will have to prove himself as one of the best quarterbacks for the Eagles.

Broncos roster has third set of siblings

Broncos are having a pair of siblings in the team with the addition of Boss Bailey. His brother Champ Bailey is already in the team of Denver Broncos as corner back. With this addition the Denver is having a pair of brothers for the third time in the club roster. Boss Bailey was with the Lions earlier and the details regarding the deal of Boss with Broncos is not revealed yet. Champ Bailey is very much excited about playing with his brother. Champ Bailey is sure that his brother can create a great impact on team’s defense with the adaptability and speed he poses in the game.

For Boss, it was a tough path to gain accomplishment in National Football League as he has suffered problems with his knee ligaments at a very young age itself. He had to keep away from play throughout the year 2004 due to torn meniscus in the right knee. In 2005 he returned to the game to win Lions’ Ed Block Award for courage. The Bailey brothers are the third pair of siblings following Danenhauer brothers and Widell brothers to get into the Broncos. Boss Bailey is coming to Denver after a five year experience in the NFL season and he has missed only one game in the last two years.

Chris Clemons signs 5 year deal with Eagles

Chris Clemons is pretty pleased to have signed a five year contract with the Philadelphia Eagles as he has not had a chance to play in the professional league since his rookie season for the Washington Redskins in 2003 season.  He showed a little bit of his football skills in the following 2004 season and the couple of injuries he sustained in the 2005 and 2006 season kept him away from the major league. All the things fell in place for Clemons last year in Oakland, as he recorded eight quarterback sacks and was one of the hottest players in the free agent market. Hence, Philadelphia Eagles are pretty much pleased to have roped in this popular player into their side for a five year deal.

Clemons said that he knew pretty well of his capabilities as a player and the injuries occurred to him at an important stage in his career. The Eagles are planning to have their 6 foot three player as a rotational part of their defensive system. The head coach of the Eagles, Andy Reid, thanked Clemons’s agents Don and Brooks for making the transition smooth and also thanked the Eagles President for bringing a valuable player into the team.

Rod Smith is placed on the reserve list

Rod Smith, one of the best players that the Broncos have ever produced, will be on the reserve/retirement list, as per the mutual agreement between the wide receiver player and the Denver Broncos management. There was no pomp, hype or press conference called for announcing the same and was found to be fitting in the way it was delivered. Smith seems to have not fully recovered from the hip debridement surgery and showed signs of pain worsening in his hip after a brief practice session. He underwent another hip surgery in January and the move to keep him in the reserve list has ended a 14 year continuous playing for the Denver Broncos.

Smith said that he was happy playing for all these 14 years and he pretty well knows that once he takes a step out of the playing field, then there will be no way that will make him return to the field again. Rod Smith finds his name to be outside the Broncos primary roster list after 13 years and whatever has been achieved by him will be cherished by his team mates and his organization for many years to come. Smith says that, in football when a player says that he is done, then, it is has to be understood that the deal is over.

Morgan’s injury worries Carolina Panthers

Injury prone linebacker Dan Morgan, of the Carolina Panthers, has been released by the Panthers after seven seasons as they ran out of patience with his recurring injuries. Morgan was a regular first round pick for the Carolina Panthers whenever he played and was one of the best line backs for the Panthers in most of the 59 games he played for the Panthers. Morgan is a very accomplished line backer and has made about 452, the third best tackle record in the history of Carolina Panthers. Dan Morgan is injury prone and played only one game the whole 2006 season and has never played the entire 16 games in any season.

The frequent injuries to Dan Morgan for the past two seasons have made the think tank of the Carolina Panthers team make the painful decision of releasing their most reliable line backer from the team.  club as well as the organizational set up could do wonders for Dan Morgan. There is no surprise as far as Drew Rosenhaus, Morgan’s agent, is concerned that the line backer will definitely be playing football in 2008 season.
