Curry joins his Oakland team for practice

The leading wide receiver for the Oakland Raiders last season, Ronald Curry, said that he has fully recovered from the left foot surgery that he had undergone last season. He has now started practicing with his Raiders teammates in his normal receiver’s position. Curry said that he did not rush up with things after his surgery and gave ample time for his foot to recover. Ronald Curry says that he is looking forward to an injury free NFL season this year unlike his previous two seasons. The Raiders will be able to give their best shot in the upcoming season now that Curry has arrived and the loyal fans as before will be rushing to book their tickets well in advance.  

Ex-NFL hero Plunkett honored

Both ex-NFL star Jim Plunkett and Jaime Escalante were both presented with a Latino Spirit Award early this week. The California Legislature saw it fit to present Plunkett for his numerous contributions in the world of athletics while giving back to the community around him. The 60 year old retiree was once quarterback for the Oakland Raiders and was named MVP twice in his career, once in the 1981 Super Bowl and another in the year 1984. Prior to that he was also the recipient for the Heisman Trophy back in the year 1970.

Escalante, the math educator who inpired the creation of the movie “Stand and Deliver”
was also one of the 14 candidates who deserved to be awarded based on their achievement.
