Seattle Seahawks 2008 schedule announced

The 2008 NFL season schedule was released last week and the Seattle Seahawks will be beginning and ending the season on road games. The Seahawks will be opening their 2008 campaign on Sept 7th at Buffalo Mills and will end the season on December 28 at Arizona. This is the fourth time in the last five years that Seattle has been allotted an away game and the kick off their campaign at home against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 2.

The St. Louis Ram is slated to play in Seattle on Sept 21. The other home games for the Seattle Seahawks include Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Oct 19, Green Bay Packers on Oct 12, Philadelphia eagles on Nov 2, the Cardinals on Nov 16, Washington Redskins on Nov 23, New England Patriots on Dec 7 and N.Y Jets on Dec 21. The best thing about this schedule for the Seahawks is that the away games will be followed by home games.

Eagles DE Cole to replace Kerney in Pro Bowl

Trent Cole has been named to the NFC Pro Bowl roster. Seattle Seahawks end Patrick Kerney will sit out the game with a shoulder injury. Cole is the youngest Eagles’ defensive end to earn a Pro Bowl. Cole comes off a season in which he ranked sixth in the NFL with 12 1/2 sacks. Cole notched 103 tackles this past season and he was named NFC Defensive Player of the Week after a 3 1/2-sack performance against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 8. Cole was voted Defensive Most Valuable Player by his Philadelphia teammates

Seahawks are in good hands

Jordan Babineaux had never heard the nickname.  the Seattle Seahawks’ 25-year-old defensive back were the star freshmen . When Babineaux was asked to compare Seattle’s receiving corps to the Green Bay Packers so-called “Fab Five». While the Packers have gotten plenty of publicity this season for having one of the deepest receiving corps in football, the Seahawks feel pretty good about their group as well. The Seahawks haven’t been as productive running after the catch.  Seattle’s receiving corps has proven to be reliable and has shown enough big-play ability to help quarterback Matt Hasselbeck set a franchise record in passing yards
